Kevin Feige recently talked about how the new Spider-Man will factor into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also teased that the new Peter Parker will be unlike any of his predecessors featured in previous Spider-Man films.

The new Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man will make his debut in the MCU with a cameo appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” In an interview with Zap2it, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige explained how the new web crawler will relate to the Avengers.

“Up until this point in the other Spidey films, he was the only hero, and now he's not. Now he's a kid in Queens with these powers and has other [superheroes] to look to,” he said.

Kevin Feige also teased what fans should expect to see from Spider-Man in “captain America: Civil War.” "It's the first time that you'll be able to see Spider-Man like he was in the comics, as a very different type of hero when compared to the other heroes in the universe,” he added.

According to Comic Book Movie, Marvel and Sony are looking into the Stan Lee/Steve Ditko comics for inspiration in creating Spider-Man’s cinematic story. Despite his appearance in “Captain America: Civil War,” per Zap2it the web crawler’s story will still “touch on the idea of him [Peter Parker] being torn between superhero ideologies.” “Those are all the things that Stan Lee and Steve Ditko played with in the first 10 years of his comics, and that now we can play with for the first time in a movie," Kevin Feige explained.

Tom Holland (“The Impossible”) was recently confirmed as the young actor who will play as the new Peter Parker. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 19-year old will definitely have scenes with Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) for his cameo appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.” Holland was reportedly the only contender asked to have a final screen test with Chris Evans.

According to Variety, Tom Holland will only be shooting his Spider-Man scenes for “Captain America: Civil War” in about a week. So it remains unknown how big a role the character plays in the sequel’s story line.
