A Canadian man spread faeces on the door of his ex-wife and left threat messages on her phone. As a result, he was sentenced to 10-day imprisonment.

It was 57-year-old Ricky James Knight who pleaded guilty to violation of court order and using death threats to his ex-wife. Earlier in February, a court order was issued barring him from getting close to his ex-wife's house. He allegedly violated the order as he personally spread faeces on her door.

Knight went to his ex-wife's house on April 21 at 4:15 in the morning. There he spread faeces on the house door. Additionally, he also moved outside objects, including a propane tank around. Toronto Sun reported that Knight had left multiple threat messages on his ex-wife's phone, demanding her to get off the property. Otherwise, she will be dead, he threatened.

Knight, who had no previous criminal record, was berated by Justice Deborah Austinsaid who told him that he could not "behave that way." Knight already spent 10 days in custody prior to the sentence. Knight was, additionally, asked to go through one year of probation. During the probation period, he was asked to stay away from his ex-wife as well as her house. Knight has also been asked to provide a DNA sample to police. He was also banned to possess any kind of weapon for 10 years.

Using faeces as a means of expressing frustration may have started being a common trend. A 34-year-old woman smeared faeces all over an upstate New York police station after she had been arrested for making a fake report. Angel Lackey was the woman who rubbed poop. Her bail was set as $1,000 cash.

In another media report, some identified people spread faeces at Costa Mesa Sanitary District headquarters at West 19th Street. The employees found the front door, windows and sidewalls covered with faeces. District officials were somehow convinced that it was a homeless man who was responsible for the act.
