Sledgehammer Games is giving "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" fans more reason to play during the holidays. From today until next Saturday, all platforms for the title will have a Double XP event with the Mosh Pit multiplayer playlist.

MP1st was able to spot a screenshot of the announcement, including the exact time it will end, which is on Dec. 13. at 9 a.m. This is a great chance to level up and do some playing, especially with the holiday break coming in for some people.

Fans have given their two cents' worth on the new event, with a lot of people stating that they were going to play only for the Double XP. In a Reddit discussion featuring Sledgehammer Games' tweet announcement, fans have stated that they would have rather seen Mercenary rather than Mosh Pit.

Still, that's not the only event that fans can celebrate or talk about. Sledgehammer Games' Michael Condrey also tweeted that there will be more tweaks coming in light of the positive feedback that the developer has gotten from the latest update. VG 24/7 reports that System Hack tuning will be featured in the next patch for "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare."

Meanwhile, for the "COD" long-time rival in terms of being a shooter in a war-themed era title, it appears that players of last year's "Battlefield 4" can expect more content before the delayed "Battlefield Hardline" debuts in 2015. In a recent announcement, DICE teased that it will be providing gamers with more to play for the title.

"With 'Battlefield 4 Final Stand' released, we hope and believe that you will enjoy it together with the rest of the game for a long time. However, there is one thing we want to assure you: there is more content coming for 'Battlefield 4,'" said the developer over at Battlefield Blog.

There are no concrete details of what the new content would be or when the release date is. But if there is one clue to fans, it may be the mention of classic maps recreated especially for the "Battlefield 4" universe.

DICE has asked players which classic map would be best reimagined for the specific iteration. Fans have already responded and suggested old maps like "Brand Bazaar," "Talah Market," "Strike at Karkand," "Kharg Island," Wake Island" and "Rush on Omaha."

This is a good way for the developer to keep "Battlefield 4" going, seeing as how it has suffered a number of issues during a particular period in its lifespan. And while most of the issues have been fixed, even the October patch still had a few tweaks that improved the title even more, GameSpot reports. The additional content may allow the fans some time to enjoy "Battlefield 4" without its issues, plus there's also the added benefit of having "Battlefield" fans play something else while waiting for its 2015 iteration, "Battlefield Hardline."
