A British man apparently attempted to "cure" a woman's homosexual orientation by raping her.

Ronald Paton, 50, is accused of sexual violence against a lesbian woman whose homosexuality, Paton believed, had to be cured. He indulged in homophonic abuse against the woman. Thereafter, he allegedly attempted to rape the 63-year-old woman. The ferocious sexual abuse allegedly dislocated the woman's hip.

Paton, on the other hand, denied every allegation against him at Gloucester Crown Court. The suspect's sexual violence reportedly lasted for 20 minutes after he had knocked on the victim's door and invited the woman for a drink.

Prosecutor Kerry Barker, who is defending the woman, said at the court that the man thought homosexuality was an illness the woman was suffering from, The Telegraph reported. Barker said that the man thought that the woman would be "cured" if she had sex with a man.

Barker said that such outlook among some men was the "core" of the case. He said that the woman was "totally humiliated" when the man attacked her. He further said that Paton could not believe that he would be arrested for attacking a "dyke."

The victim said that Paton made homophobic remarks when she had a garden party with her gay friends in May 2012. However, when he knocked on her door on June 30, 2012. He apparently indicated that he wanted to sort things out between them. She said that she was invited to his house for a drink. They sat in opposite sofas while the man became "quite drunk." She said that she started feeling uncomfortable about the manner the conversation between them was shaping up.

The victim further said that the man asked her to sit with him. She laughed about it, as she told him again that she was a lesbian. Then, she went to the toilet. When she returned, she found the main lights of the lounge turned off. The man attacked her, pushed her bra up to her chin and pulled her shorts and underwear down. She heard her hip click and felt pain. She managed to run away and locked herself in her own bathroom.

The woman had to retell the entire incident to the court, as the video interview she gave to police had been lost.
