Amir Khan believes that Floyd Mayweather will not "cause much of a problem," as he considers the American to perfectly suit his fighting style, while opining that the latter is "not the biggest puncher."

The former Olympics silver medalist has been longing to get in the ring with "Money," and a win against Devon Alexander on Dec. 13 will reportedly make him as one of the favourites to face the undefeated American.

While he already has three defeats under his belt, the 28-year-old Bolton, Greater Manchester native is confident that he can give Mayweather a run for his money.

"Styles make fights in boxing, and with the Mayweather style, it'd be like a game of chess...he's not the biggest puncher. He's a single punch fighter," Khan told Fighthype.com.

"Maybe throws a combination now and then. So he's not going to cause much of a problem...it's going to be a match where he's gonna try and make me miss and counter me, but that's my game as well."

"I'm quicker than Mayweather, I believe. I'm more explosive. I probably hit harder."

"It's just a perfect style for me. I wanna fight someone that will bring the best out of me, knowing that you're fighting like Floyd Mayweather because he is on top of his game. He's only gonna make me work harder, train harder, and be more cautious when you fight someone like him."

He even likened himself to Manny Pacquiao, as far as method is concerned, and cited some big names who think that he is the real deal.

"I've got the height, I've got the range, I've got the body frame for that," he continued.

"Especially when you hear other boxers around the world like Roy Jones and you've got Tommy Herns and Marvin Hagler, and them guys saying that [they] really believe that Amir Khan or Manny Pacquiao, because he's also got a similar style to mine but not as long with the reach or not as tall as me, will give Mayweather problems."
