Freddie Roach's protege and assistant trainer Marvin Somodio believes that Manny Pacquiao will be cruising his way to victory against Chris Algieri, ahead of their scheduled bout on November 23.

The diminutive 30-year-old, who came from humble beginnings as a mentor in a province in the Philippines to training Brian Viloria and Algieri's former foe, Ruslan Provodnikov, opined that conditioning will be key to Pacman's success, suggesting that it could be a long night for both fighters, literally.

"I think it will be an easy fight for Manny as long as he's in good condition," he told philstar.com.

"Algieri has no power and if it goes the distance, nobody can outscore Manny when it comes to volume punching."

Somodio specifically pointed out that Pacquiao has the tools to negate the undefeated American's height (5'6" vs. 5'10") and reach (67" vs. 72") advantage.

"Algieri has a good jab if you let him get away with it," he added.

"But if you strike first or counter him right away, he won't be able to throw the jab consistently and he'll think twice before jabbing."

"Manny is good at countering the jab. If you notice in Manny's previous fights, he does a good job of neutralizing an opponent's jab with his left. And Manny is a lot faster than Ruslan."

In spite of the fighting congressman's listed physical disadvantages, his punching power is undoubtedly superior over Algieri's.

"Algieri is just a lightwelterweight," he continued.

"With his size, it's very possible that Manny will knock him out."

Much as he would like to be at ringside with Roach and company at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Resort in Macau, China, Somodio has business of his own to deal with, preparing Provodnikov, who will go up against Mexican Jose Luis Castillo on Nov. 28 in Russia.

"I won't be able to go to GenSan or Macau because I'm getting Ruslan ready for his fight in Moscow and I'm also working with Frankie Gomez," he disclosed.
