Two superstars from different sports had a photo together when they met on Saturday. The best footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid, and the unbeaten American boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr, joined a historic moment which Ronaldo posted on Instagram.

Team captain Ronaldo and his teammates from Real Madrid are in the U.S. to prepare for a new season. He may possibly be included in the team's pre-season fixtures versus Inter Milan, Roma and Manchester United.

He captioned the photo: "Nice to hand out with the champ @FloydMayweather. After he posted it on Instagram on Saturday, the photo was retweeted 15,000 times and favourites 19,000 times.

Media outlets that published the photo noted the uniqueness of the photo for bringing together two sports icon.

Mstarz writer Kenneth Brown commented, "It is interesting to think how they could help one another in the gym, implementing fitness tips provided from one another."

He added, "Could be the greatest sporting friendship of all time, and which is the better athlete? It's a tough choice indeed."
