Former pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao reportedly knocked down Roger 'Speedy' Gonzales during a sparring session at the Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles last weekend, a source close to the situation reported on Tuesday.

Fed up by the taunts he received from Timothy Bradley, the 35-year old Pacquiao has been on berserk mode in his training camp, as he went toe-to-toe with his sparring partners with no plans of holding back. According to Pacquiao's spokesman Aquiles Zonio in an interview with a local radio station, the Filipino brawler logged three rounds of sparring for the past two days.

Zonio revealed that Pacquiao floored Gonzalez after connecting with a powerful left straight to the mouth of his sparring partner. Gonzalez needed a few seconds to stand on his own feet, but Zonio believed the damage could have been worse if he did not wear protective head gear. In fact, Gonzalez confessed that he saw stars and didn't see where the punch came from.

Pacquiao in Rage Mode

Pacquiao stressed that he considers the Bradley fight the biggest since his Dream Bout with his boxing idol Oscar De La Hoya in 2008. The eight division world champion lost to Bradley in a controversial 12-round split decision in 2012.

Bradley, who managed to retain his WBO welterweight title after coming through with a gutsy win over Ruslan Provodnikov and Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012, insisted that he won his first match with Pacquiao 8-4.

The Desert Storm added that he felt Pacquiao has already lost his competitive fire to go toe-to-toe with his opponent and doesn't have anymore the killer instinct that made him the most fearsome boxer in the business.

However, Pacquiao stressed that he remains the brutal boxer that he was several years ago, vowing to prove to everybody that he's still capable of dominating the sport despite his age, not to mention a knockout loss to Marquez in 2012.

"I still have the killer instinct. I am not afraid to use my power and go for the knockout. But I will remember the lesson I learned from my last fight with Marquez. Knockouts need to come naturally, you should not force them," Pacman stated.

Pacquiao and Bradley will duke it out on April 12 at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada. The match will be for the WBO Welterweight world championship.
