Republican Mitt Romney, who recently said he is no longer interested in running for the presidency in 2016, is entering another ring in May 15. Definitely not the political arena, but a boxing ring to help fund Charity Vision.

He agreed on Tuesday to a bout with former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, although he harbors no illusion of beating the pugilist who has boxed against Mike Tyson and George Foreman, reports Time

“It will either be a very short fight, or I will be knocked unconscious,” he told the Tribune of Salt Lake City. Romney adds, “It won’t be much of a fight. We’ll both suit up and get in the ring and spar around a little bit.”

Part of the proceeds of the match will go to Charity Vision that provides eye experts and facilities in poor areas to perform eye surgeries. The organisation was established by a doctor and former Mormon missionary.

CNN reports that Romney, also a Mormon, has likewise become involved in the charitable works of the group.

The bout is definitely a mismatch. Besides the superior boxing skills of Holyfield despite his retirement, there is a 16-year age gap since the former champ is only 52 year old, while Romney, even if he appears to be physically fit, is already 68 years old.

In terms of height, Holyfield has a one-inch advantage at 6’ 2”, while he tips the scale at 226 pounds. Romney is only 185 pounds.
