Get ready for the latest weekend movie releases in Australia including “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2,” “Secret In Their Eyes,” and “Mina Walking.” These films were released on Thursday, Nov. 19 and are currently showing in Australian theates.

In “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2,” Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss Everdeen, the fearless leader of the revolution against a corrupt and sadistic government. She is on a mission to free the natives of Panem and fight against President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The movie is a sequel to 2014’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1.” The second part of the last installment in “The Hunger Games” series was released in 2D and 3D versions.

It is a science -fiction and war film directed by Francis Lawrence. It was adapted from Suzanne Collins’ book titled “Mockingjay.” The movie’s script is written by Danny Strong and Peter Craig.

Billy Ray’s “Secret In Their Eyes” also premiered in Australian cinemas on Nov. 19. The star-studded thriller features Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor in leading roles. “Secret In Their Eyes” has Ejiofor (Ray) and Roberts (Jess) portraying FBI investigators. Nicole Kidman (Claire) plays the role of a District Attorney supervisor.

The suspense starts with the trio discovering the murder of Jess’ teenage daughter Carolyn (Zoe Graham). The film is originally based on the 2005 novel “La pregunta de sus ojos” (“The Question in Their Eyes”) by Eduardo Sacheri. Director Billy Ray also wrote the film’s screenplay.

Julia Roberts last appeared on the big screen in the movie “August: Osage County” (2013). Nicole Kidman was last seen with Jason Bateman in “The Family Fang,” which was shown in Canadian theatres on (Sept. 14). As for Chiwetel Ejiofor, his last movie prior to “Secret In Their Eyes” was “The Martian,” which was released on Sept. 30.

The film “Mina Walking,” which is written and directed by Yosef Baraki, revolves around a 12-year-old Afghan girl named Mina. Baraki’s movie gives an insight into the Afghan girl’s life as a street vendor, which includes her struggle for survival.

“Mina Walking” stars Farzana Nawabi as Mina, Qadir Aryae as Omar, Safi Fanaie as Samir and Marina Golbahari as Teacher. In the film, Baraki has shown how girls in Afghanistan earn their living. The director has vividly portrayed their experiences on the streets and how war has affected their families. It was released at the Brisbane Asia Pacific Festival on Nov. 19.

According to Yahoo, aside from the three films mentioned above, other movies released in Australia on Nov. 19 are “Absolutely Anything,” starring Simon Pegg and Robin Williams, “The Crow’s Egg” starring J. Vignesh and “99 Homes” starring Michael Shannon and Laura Dern.

Urban Cinefile reports that "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2" is on top of the Box Office in Australia, earning $9.8 million during the opening weekend. Meanwhile, "Secret In Their Eyes" earned $598,196 from Nov. 19 - 22. The other films on top of the Australian Box Office were released earlier, including the Top 2 film "Spectre"(release date: Nov. 12) and the Top 3 movie "The Dressmaker" (release date: Oct. 29).
