This update contains “Bones” Season 11 spoilers. Read on at your own risk.

The first episode of “Bones” Season 11 will feature a time jump or a flash forward that could be compared to the treatment of the Season 7 premiere. In addition, the audience can expect to meet the forensic anthropologist hired to replace Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel).

At this point, the avid audience of “Bones” already know that something will pull everyone back together at the Jeffersonian Institution. Both Brennan and Booth (David Boreanaz) left the U.S. institution at the end of Season 5, but when Caroline Julian sought their services in the premiere of Season 6, both came back to get Cam (Tamara Taylor). Something like this is expected to happen in “Bones” Season 11.

In an interview with TVLine, “Bones” show boss Stephen Nathan confirmed Brennan’s job is going to someone else. It remains to be seen whether the replacement is someone who is already at the Jeffersonian.

Asked about the Aubrey (John Boyd) and Jessica (Laura Spencer) story, Nathan neither confirmed or denied that the pair would have more screen time.

“Those guys were pretty great together. John Boyd was just a drop from heaven this year. He did a wonderful job,” Nathan told TVLine.

“Bones” Season 11 will premiere on Oct. 1 (Thursday), according to the FOX website. Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Jack (T.J. Thyne) are both part of the next season by default.
