The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recently announced the nominees for the 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards. “The Bold and the Beautiful” ("B&B") was included in 23 nominations.

The 2016 ballot included all four daytime dramas. “The Young and the Restless” on CBS had 27 nominations. “General Hospital” on ABC had 24 nominations. “The Bold and the Beautiful” on CBS had 23 nominations. “Days of Our Lives” on NBC had 16 nominations.

Soap Central reveals that Pierson Fode and Reign Edwards garnered a nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor and Outstanding Younger Actress, respectively, for the first time. Edwards, who plays Nicole Avant on the soap, shared her excitement after being nominated Outstanding Younger Actress. She shared that she submitted her scenes with onscreen parents Anna Maria Horsford and ObbaBabatunde when they first arrived in town.

“I felt they were really powerful scenes. They were just really honest about the reality of the situation, so I really just loved them,” Edwards said.

All four soaps also received nominations in the three biggest categories, namely Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing Team and Outstanding Directing Team.

She Knows Soaps reports that Jacob Young was nominated Outstanding Supporting Actor. Linsey Godfrey was nominated Outstanding Supporting Actress. Anna Maria Horsford was nominated for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series.

The soap was also nominated for Outstanding Achievement for a Casting Director for a Drama Series, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Direction/Scenic Design, Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction for a Drama Series, Outstanding Technical Team for a Drama Series, Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition For a Drama Series, Outstanding Achievement in Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Original Song for a Drama Series, Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design for a Drama Series, Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling, Outstanding Achievement in Makeup and Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design,

The 2016 Daytime Emmy Awards will happen on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites. However, it was announced that the ceremony will not be broadcast on television due to lack of sponsors.
