American television channel host Josh Gates displays what is believed to be 'Yeti' footprints to the media in Kathmandu November 30, 2007. The U.S.-based television channel investigating the existence of the legendary Yeti in Nepal has found footprints similar to those said to be that of the abominable snowman, the company said on Friday. A team of nine producers from Destination Truth, armed with infrared cameras, spent a week in the icy Khumbu region where Mount Everest is located and found the footprints on the bank of Manju river at a height of 2,850 meters (9,350 feet). The mystery of the Bigfoot, a large hairy hominid-like creature that is believed to live in the forests, has intrigued people since forever. Every culture has its own version of the Bigfoot. While people claim to have spotted it in the Himalayas, where it is commonly known as the Yeti, some claim to have seen it in North America. The legend of the Bigfoot or the Sasquatch has been existing for centuries and scientists have always regarded these stories as hoax.

Yet again the story of this large hairy creature has cropped up and this time with two evidences. A large footprint has been found in the woods in Mississippi. The six inch footprint is unlike anything seen in the past. While this is only partial evidence and one that cannot be held as a strong one with regard to the existence of the creature, two men have also claimed to have seen it. The foot print was found by Peyton Lassiter in Vicksburg on August 12.

Much before this in November 2013, David Childers, a paranormal investigator, saw a gray figure running through the woods at an old abandoned playground in Vicksburg. This is while he was investigating the site after receiving reports of strange, frightening noises in the area. Shocked by what he saw Childers said that it was something he could not gauge but was definitely six feet tall and had a shaggy coat to it, like a greyish-brown colour. "When it made the noise that spooked me, I looked over, and it looked like it stood up and just bolted off," he explained.

Later Lassiter who had been working on an air conditioner that was 400 yards away from the play ground found the footprint. He made a cast of it and contacted Childers when he saw that his truck had the logo of the Delta Paranormal Project. On contacting him, he found out that Childers had seen the creature.

Lassiter explained that the footprint could not be that of any human, the hair colour also is not unlike a bear's and the finger prints matches that of either humans or primates. Though he does not know what made the footprint he says that the whole mystery behind it intrigues him.

Childers, on the other hand, failed to take a photo of the creature but after speaking to Lassiter, he said it helped clear some things. "We were just blown away, it raised additional questions," he told the Clarion-Ledge. Despite Childer's sighting of the mysterious creature, he neither confirms nor can he declare that it was definitely a Bigfoot that he saw.

While he has long been hunting for paranormal activity, even appearing on network A&E with his finds, Childers also cannot verify the existence of Bigfoot. "But if you have a piece of physical evidence such as this, it's definitely worth not totally ruling out," Lassiter told WJTV.

Further research into it would be conducted by The Delta Paranormal Research group.
