In the past nine seasons of "The Big Bang Theory," fans have seen the characters grow from being extremely awkward to becoming bearably awkward human beings. The audience cried and laughed as the nerds find themselves girlfriends, made progress in their professions, and entered the marriage life. With the way things are going, the next phase these guys are headed to is no other than fatherhood.

Just last season, fans saw how the Wolowitz couple, Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), handle their pregnancy after learning about it. Of course the gang were all too happy for the two, especially Howard’s bromance partner Raj (Kunal Nayyar), who drew out hilarious scenes due to his excitement.

Now that Howard and Bernadette are officially entering parenthood, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki), who renewed their vows in season 9’s finale, could very well come next. As MasterHerald suggests, if Penny and Leonard are to take their relationship further, it could very well lead to having a baby together. On how Sheldon (Jim Parsons) reacts to his friends move forward into adulthood, whether he would like babies as much as cats or detest them as much as people taking his spot, or whether there would even be babies at all, the development in Sheldon’s personality is highly anticipated.

Finally, it can be recalled that on the final episode of “Big Bang Theory’s” 9th season, Leonard’s father, Alfred (Judd Hirsch), is speculated to have slept with Sheldon’s mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf). This awkward set-up can open a lot of possibilities to how Sheldon and Leonard’s relationship will become, perhaps they will become stepbrothers. Another possibility, in light of the pregnancy or family theme the show is partaking, Alfred and Mary could’ve made a miracle and Sheldon and Leonard’s half-sibling may be underway.

For now these are only speculations rooted from how “Big Bang Theory” season 9 ended. Reportedly, the “Big Bang Theory” panel will reveal a bunch of things during this year’s Comic-Con at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday. Among some of the things the panels will supposedly share to fans are baby news.

“The Big Bang Theory ” season 10 returns in September in the US. The airing date for Australia is not yet released.
