Game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) is finding a way to unify “Battlefield” players by building a common user interface on current-generation consoles. Three games, “Battlefield 1,” “Battlefield 4” and “Battlefield Hardline,” can be enjoyed by gamers on a single platform in the near future.

When the unified UI releases, friends will find it more convenient to create parties and join “Battlefield” matches. They can choose from the three available “Battlefield” titles and can easily transfer from one game to another. According to EA, the UI will also suggest maps and modes that players might wish to play.

According to GameSpot, “Battlefield 4” will be the first game to feature the new unified UI. “Battlefield 1” will follow on Oct. 21, 2016, which will also showcase the compatibility. “Battlefield Hardline” will be the third title from the franchise to release, thereby allowing gamers to enjoy any game with their created party of friends. Swapping between games will be easier, especially for players who own the digital copies of the “Battlefield” games, since they no longer have to keep changing the physical discs.

PlayStationLifestyle states that the new “Battlefield” unified UI will be introduced to provide a more intuitive and centralised experience for all fans of the franchise. Some of the notable changes include a recommendation engine that will suggest maps, modes and more and the new UI. Last-generation “Battlefield” players, however, cannot use the new UI.

GameRant notes that according to DICE and EA, mandatory updates are required for the unified “Battlefield” UI aspect to properly function. Overall, gamers will find the recent upgrade advantageous.

In the meantime, “Battlefield 1” was revealed to include a single-player mode and will have a World War I setting. A multiplayer mode is expected to follow. The public beta is set to begin after the Gamescom conference in August 2016. According to the official “Battlefield” website, the new unified UI is already available for a small audience.

“Battlefield 1” is set to launch on Oct 21, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. More updates on the new “Battlefield” UI and testing opportunities are expected soon.
