The first official look of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has been released. The image shows the actor sporting a bald look that is similar to what the fans have seen in some movies, cartoons and comic books.

A black and white image of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor has been released by the producers exclusively to EntertainmentWeekly. The actor will be playing the role of the classic Superman villain in the upcoming movie.

Jesse Eisenberg is known for his roles in movies like “Now You See Me” and “The Social Network.” The actor also lent his voice to the cartoon character Blu in the 2011 movie “Rio” and also in the 2014 sequel “Rio 2.” This may be the first time that the actor will be playing a comic book villain.

The role of Lex Luthor was previously played by Hollywood veterans like Gene Hackman in the 1981 movie “Superman 2” and Kevin Spacey in the more recent 2006 movie “Superman Returns.” Gene Hackman was seen with full hair when he played Lex Luthor, but Kevin Spacey was seen with the bald look when he played the character.

There may be some difference in Lex Luthor in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Director Zack Snyder has stated in the report that the only similarities of the character with what the fans have seen previously is the bald look and the fact that he is a big industrialist. “He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” the director reportedly said.

Describing the character in his movie, Zack said that Lex is “disarming” and “not fake.” He further added that the character speaks his mind in the movie and he “says what he believes.” He said that the fans will be able to understand the character in the movie, provided they can “unravel the string and decipher what he means.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to be released on March 24, 2016 in New Zealand and on March 25 in the UK and in the U.S. The release date information of the movie in Australia has not been revealed by the producers.
