Superman could create a mess again in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” much like what happened in “Man of Steel.” However, if the recent plot details are confirmed, this time Kal El is out to wreak havoc in Gotham in his fight with Batman under Lex Luthor’s coercion.

Reason as to why Batman and Superman will face it off in “Dawn of Justice” has just been revealed. According to Badass Digest, it all starts with Lex Luthor telling Superman to go after Batman in Gotham, where the latter is on a mission to clean its streets of evildoers. “It is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation... at the behest of Lex Luthor,” writer Devin Faraci said. It’s reportedly Superman who starts the fight when he goes to Gotham; “he comes out swinging, pulverising the Batmobile with one punch.”

This plot detail in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is said to differ with “The Dark Knight Returns,” where Superman is believed to be the “lackey” of the government. It’s also Batman who starts the confrontation in “TDKR” after Superman was sent by the government to Gotham to dissuade the caped crusader from cleaning out its streets.

Superman fighting off Batman in Gotham reportedly doesn’t help his reputation with the government. Unlike in “The Dark Knight Returns,” Faraci said in “Dawn of Justice” Superman is “no lackey of the government; if anything, many of the world's governments distrust the guy.” Superman’s actions reportedly bring to question why he would do Lex Luthor’s bidding and start a confrontation with Batman. It suppposedly also makes one wonder what the head of LexCorp is plotting by having the two heroes fight against each other.

According to Batman-News, the government’s distrust on Kal El in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will bring him in court for trial on the destruction he's done on Metropolis in “Man of Steel.” According to the site, there will be a scene in the movie involving Superman and the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. The public reportedly blames Superman for all the death and destruction in Metropolis. It’s believed if he wasn’t’ on Earth then General Zod wouldn’t have come.
