The last bits of downloadable content (DLC) for “Batman: Arkham Knight” is coming out sooner than expected, as the developers from Rocksteady have revealed the release date for the game’s December content. Fans will be able to participate in new AR challenges, endure the “Season of Infamy” and use the costume from the “Dark Knight” film on Dec. 22.

Ever since it was leaked, fans were excited to participate in the “Season of Infamy,” which adds four new side missions in the main game. Ra’s Al Ghul, Killer Croc, Mad Hatter and Mr. Freeze have returned to Gotham City for mysterious reasons, naturally it’s up to Batman to stop them.

Of the villains announced for “Season of Infamy” Ra’s Al Ghul and Mr. Freeze are the most interesting, due to their previous roles in the game’s predecessor “Arkham City.” When fans last saw them Ra’s had been impaled through the chest and Mr. Freeze seemingly had a happy ending, so it’s curious to see them return for a second round fight with Batman.

These missions are expected to be longer than previous Arkham Episodes that featured Batman’s supporting cast. PlayStation Lifestyle has confirmed that each mission should be just as long as the game’s Most Wanted missions, averaging at an hour or so each.

Gearnuke has also confirmed six new AR Challenges, two of which will be exclusive to Azrael and Harley Quinn. Previous challenges focused on the other characters in the game, so seeing these two get a challenge each could be considered a good move.

Speaking of Harley Quinn, she will be getting her classic costume as a playable skin in the next patch update. She won’t be the only one getting a face-lift, as Red Hood will be getting his Arkham Knight costume as well.

Like the previously released “Batman v Superman Batmobile Pack” the 2008 costume from “The Dark Knight” will be free for those that bought the game, though it will come to season pass owners first. The skin should compliment the Tumbler DLC that was released a while back, since that was the vehicle Batman used in the Christopher Nolan films.

Fans will be able to access all of this content by purchasing the US$40 season pass. They can also download each DLC pack individually if they don’t want all of the content.
