Good news for those who grew up in the 1990s – the phenomenal boy band Backstreet Boys is gearing up to unleash a whole set of new tunes by August.

This is not a fire drill – members Nick Carter and Brian Littrell took to Instagram to share the exciting development with their fans. Carter took a selfie while inside a studio. The 36-year-old singer captioned the image, “In the studio with my @backstreetboys recording a song for @flagaline new album. Also working on the new backstreet album as well. Get ready!!!”

Littrell, on the other hand, also posted a photo of the studio with similar caption. The 41-year-old crooner then took a photo of himself with Nick and other Backstreet Boys members Howie Dorough. and Kevin Richardson. Littrell wrote, “These fools..... monkeying around.... Where did Bone go??” He may be referring to the fifth member of the group, A.J. McLean.

One of the most recent and memorable performances of the vocal group was at the 2016 Miss USA earlier this month [watch video below]. The iconic boy band took back the audience to their fangirling youth when they serenaded the contestants with some of their hits including “As Long As You Love Me” and “I Want It That Way.” In April this year, they confirmed that they signed a nine-show deal with Live Nation, the touring company, for a Las Vegas residency, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.

Carter and McLean also appeared in “Lip Sync Battle” in February 2016 as special guests of model Gigi Hadid. The Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated model performed with the two in the tune of their hit song “Larger Than Life.”

The Backstreet Boys, also known as BSB, was first launched in Orlando, Florida, US in 1993. They made a name for themselves with their debut album, “Backstreet Boys” in 1996, and immediately followed it up with “Backstreet’s Back” a year after. However, it was in 1999 when they released “Millennium” that made them skyrocket to fame. In 2000, they launched “Black and Blue,” then went to a two-year break. They went back to the airwaves with their comeback album titled “Never Gone” in 2005.

In 2013, Backstreet Boys celebrated their 2oth anniversary and released “In a World Like This.” Over the years, they have sold over 130 million records worldwide, earning them the recognition of being the best-selling boy band in history.
