American vocal group Backstreet Boys cancelled their sold-out three-day concert in Israel amidst the building up tension between Israel and Palestine. The pop group will schedule the new tour date on Spring 2015.

According to the boy band's press release, they regrettably informed their fans on the cancellation of the concert which was supposedly scheduled on July 29-31 at the Raanana Amphitheater, Tel Aviv, Israel due to Operation Protective Edge.

"This is a major disappointment for the band and fans as this was to be our first visit to Israel and we looked forward to meeting our fans. We're already working with the producers on new dates during Spring 2015 and will notify everyone about this as soon as possible," said the press release.

The scheduled Israel concert was supposed to draw a buzzing sensation after the tickets for the initial date were sold out in just a few hours. The two additional dates were also quickly sold out.

In an article from Hollywood Reporter, Israeli promoter Tal Sherf explained that Back Street Boys are working on the new dates of the cancelled concert around March to April spring 2015. The band understands how many loyal and excited fans they have in Israel for the scheduled concert but the band is considering the safety of the fans.

"The band will make all possible efforts to announce the new dates as soon as possible," Sherf stated. The promoter then stated that the band joined the Israeli's prayer for the well-being of the soldiers. He hoped that may the soldiers be able to return home on peace.

Fans will still be able to use or upgrade their present concert tickets to VIPs on the new tour dates once these will be announced. But those who wished to get a refund may do so by contacting the Kupat tel Aviv offices or contacting the website provided by the band by clicking here.

Several high profile acts and concerts have also been called off in the midst of the Operation Protective Edge. According to TMZ, Neil Young & Crazy Horse as well as Paul Anka have also cancelled their Israel performances from their tour schedules. Hollywood Reporter also mentioned that the veteran American jazz musicians Stanley Clarke and Chick Corea have also cancelled their concert tours in Israel.
