Only a dozen aspiring models are in the running to be “Australia’s Next Top Model” after Sofie Baric got eliminated on the maiden episode of the talent search.

The 17-year-old model from Hobart exited the competition as “Australia’s Next Top Model” aired its premiere episode Tuesday on FOX8.

This leaves only 12 hopefuls for the title and the grand prize consisting of a one-year modeling contract with Sydney-based Priscilla’s Model Management, a brand new Mazda 2 Hatch and an editorial spread in Elle magazine Australia.

Aged 16, Aleyna Fitzgerald from Newcastle and Linnea Stevens-Jones from Sydney are the youngest contenders while 25-year-old Vitoria Triboni from Sydney is the oldest. Christy Baker from Brisbane and Sabine Jamieson from Byron Bay are both 17, while Belinda Kosorok from Wagga Wagga is the lone 18-year-old in the competition.

Daisy Davies from Sydney, Kassidy Ure from Newcastle and Summer Kane from Melbourne are all 19 years old. Jordan Simek from Sydney and Laura Taaffe from Perth are 20 years old, while Jessie Andrewartha from Adelaide is 21.

The 13 contestants modeled the designs of Alex Perry’s S/S16 collection on their first runway challenge. They also competed with “Australia’s Next Top Model” cycle 7 winner Montana Cox in a hight time photo shoot at The Star hotel.

While Baric got eliminated, Fitzgerald performed well and ranked first on the score board.

“Australia’s Next Top Model” season 10 airs Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. on FOX8.
