U.S. President Barack Obama is about to arrive at Brisbane for the G20 summit. The U.S. military performed its last minute drills before his arrival.

According to plane spotters, it was a smooth run through even though the landing of a couple of tilt-rotor Osprey aircraft was dusty near a busy inner road in Brisbane. ABC News reported that the United States Marine Corps aircraft had blown a plume of dust over six lanes of traffic that caused vehicles to stop during the landing. Obama is expected to be transported in a couple of VH-3D Sea King helicopters. According to ABC Radio National presenter Rhianna Patrick, the aircrafts were the "celebrities of the aviation world."

Australia is going to spend over $100 million for the security of the international leaders who would attend the Leaders' Summit. The cost of the summit which will be held for two days is nothing but normal for an international convention, Brisbane Times reported. National leaders from Germany, India, Russia, China, the U.K. and the United States are among a number of other national leaders who will attend the event. More than 7,600 delegates, dignitaries and journalists will be present. The security should be immaculate as any attack at such a gala event will definitely be disastrous.

No specific threat has been declared at the moment. Police are concerned for the possibility of a "lone-wolf" attack outside the heavily guarded G20 precinct. The official terror level in Australia was raised to high after it was suggested to the government by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation. The security level of the G20 summit in Brisbane was further scrutinised even though it was already tight. There are also possibilities of violent protests during the summit. More than 1,000 people were arrested in Toronto during the 2010 summit. About 35,000 activists rallied in London during the summit in 2009.

Most of the national leaders are expected to reach Brisbane by Friday, November 14. Obama, on the other hand, is expected to reach Brisbane on Saturday in Air Force One. It is unconfirmed if Obama will attend the speaking engagement at the University of Queensland by boat, motorcade or helicopter.
