There is a new TV series being made about the comic book character Batwoman, and the role has been cast. Aussie actress Ruby Rose will be playing the new superhero on the silver screen. The character will first appear in a crossover episode of existing TV shows, and will later appear in a solo series.

The list of superheroes at The CW is expanding with the addition of Kate Kanem, better known as Batwoman. According to a report by Variety, the character will first appear in a crossover episode of “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

The new superhero has been described as someone who is passionate about social justice and has a flair for speaking her mind. She’s a trained street fighter, ready to take on the criminal underworld of Gotham city.

Although Batwoman is a superhero, it will take some time for her to accept her true calling. She has to first conquer her own demons before helping Gotham city.

An interesting aspect of the character is that she is an out lesbian. This should add an interesting dynamic to the characters relationships with the other characters on the show.

This is a big break for Aussie star Rose. The actress already has been a part of a few high profile projects like “Orange is the New Black,” “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter,” “xXx: Return of Xander Cage,” and “John Wick: Chapter 3.”

Reacting to the casting news, Greg Rucka, who has been a long time writer of “Batwoman,” has approved of Rose. Rucka also wrote on Twitter that the TV adaptation of the character will depend on the vision of the writers.

For the solo TV series “Batwoman,” Caroline Dries has been chosen to be the writer and the executive producer. The other executive producers are Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions, and Geoff Johns of Mad Ghost Productions.

If the solo TV series gets the approval from the network, it is expected to air sometime in 2019.
