Auckland Airport has won the award for Best Investor Relations.

The award was given in the 2015 Australasian Investor Relations Awards by a company in the Australian Stock Exchange “mid-cap 200.” The award is given to recognise listed entities that have excelled in investor relations over the year. Australian and international equities analysts and fund managers vote to select the winners.

According to Auckland Airport’s Chief Executive Adrian Littlewood, it is both fantastic and humbling to receive such a major award from international financial analysts and fund managers.

“This award recognises the strong emphasis we have placed on transparency, communication, consistency of results, and ensuring our management is accessible to investors,” Littlewood says in a media release.

“It also nicely builds on our success in the 2014 Australasian Investor Relations Awards, when we won Best Investor Relations by a New Zealand Company.”

Littlewood also said it was a “great achievement” for the airport.

“To have Auckland Airport’s investor relations work recognised as one of the best of all the companies listed on the Australian stock exchange is a great achievement,” he added.

“Auckland Airport is focused on ongoing improvement, and shareholders can be assured that we remain committed to identifying ways to continue to enhance our investor relations.”

The busiest airport in New Zealand is hoping to get the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The winners of the “Oscars of the aviation industry” is decided by passengers’ votes. Auckland Airport asked its customers to take part in the “world's largest Airport Customer Satisfaction study” and say which airport is their favourite and why.

Travellers voted Singapore Changi Airport as “World's Best Airport” in 2015. Auckland International Airport was at the 15th spot, while it stood at 11th in 2014.
