Asus Republic of Gamers on Tuesday launched the all-new VR-ready ROG Strix RX Vega 64 gaming graphics card. It promises ultrafast performance and customised styling. Its biggest draw, however, is its abundance of enhanced thermal solutions.

ROG’s latest offering features exclusive technologies like the innovative MaxContact GPU cooling system paired with a trio of patented and IP5X-certified dust resistant 0 dB wing-blade fans, which should provide 30 percent cooler and three times quieter performance compared to reference cards. Thermal reliability is further boosted by Asus’ FanConnect II, Auto-Extreme and Super Alloy Power II components.

“All Asus and Asus ROG graphics cards are now produced using Auto-Extreme technology, an industry-exclusive, 100 percent automated production process that incorporates premium materials to set a new standard of quality, performance and longevity,” according to the Taipei-based hardware giant. “Super Alloy Power II components deliver enhanced efficiency, reduce power loss, reduce component buzzing by 50 percent under full load and achieve thermal levels that are approximately 50 percent cooler than previous designs for enhanced quality and reliability.”

Asus adds that ever since it incorporated Auto-Extreme into its graphics chips, reliability has improved 30 percent. Power consumption has likewise experienced a 50 percent decrease thanks to the new and environmentally friendly manufacturing process.

The new Strix is one VR-friendly hardware and comes with a couple of HDMI ports. On-the-fly performance tweaking and overclocking are handled by the GPU Tweak II app. Speaking of tweaking, those who are into RGB lights can customise their LED setup using Aura Sync.

The Gaming Booster function eliminates redundant processes and allocates all available resources by design for optimal system performance. The Strix RX Vega 64 also comes with a one-year XSplit Gamecaster premium license, which is worth US$99 (AU$125), for spontaneous system monitoring and instant gameplay streaming and recording.

The Asus ROG Strix RX Vega 64 is set for a global early September release. In addition to the latest Republic of Gamers hardware, the company also has an all-new Radeon RX Vega graphics card line-up that will be available starting August 14, and it includes a water-cooled unit and an air-cooled variant. Asus has yet to reveal official pricing details of its new products.
