AS Roma striker Mattia Destro hinted on a possible move to Arsenal after professing happiness to rumours linking him to the club.

The 23-year-old Italian international is able to find ways to score goals for the Giallorosi, netting 4, in spite of only starting half of his 14 appearances in the Serie A. Nevertheless, he has proven his effectiveness upfront last season, tallying 13 successful strikes after featuring 20 times in the top-flight.

His fine form led to speculations about his future at the Stadio Olimpico, with top European clubs interested in securing his services.

"Arsenal for me? The rumours are good, I'm happy for them," he told the London Evening Standard.

"This is the proof that I'm doing my work well. There are so many things that I can improve on."

"I must never stop and continue to learn new things. The coach encourages me a lot, he is teaching me some things, and I try to show my skills on the pitch, as well as the confidence he has in me."

It remains to be seen, however, if the reports are true as the Gunners have sufficient personnel upfront following the signing of Danny Welbeck last summer.
