Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that defender Kieran Gibbs might be able to see action against Burnley on Saturday, while key men Olivier Giroud and Jack Wilshere are also set to make their respective comebacks.

Gibbs came off limping against Sunderland on matchday 9, but Wenger is pleased with the development, as he can't afford to lose another head in his already depleted back-line.

"With the long-term injuries nobody is back. We have a slight problem with Wilshere. Will he be available [on Saturday] or not? I will see today," said the French mentor.

"Gibbs as well has a test, but I am quite positive about him."

"About Wilshere I don't think he will be available. Very, very short-term. He got a kick on his knee. I don't know if Tuesday will be too early or not, at the moment he doesn't practice, but certainly Swansea, yes."

Giroud, who is out since August 23 due to a foot problem, is showing signs that he might take the pitch earlier than predicted.

"[He is doing] very well. He's three weeks ahead of schedule and I think he will join in normal training after the international break," he added.
