Arsenal defender Calum Chambers revealed that he is already getting the hang of playing in one of the biggest sides in club football.

The 19-year-old versatile player moved to the Emirates last July for around £18million and is, thus far, able to justify the huge sum for his acquisition.

"Everyone has welcomed me so well that it has made it easier for me to settle and be as confident as I am here," the graduate of the famed Saints Academy told Arsenal.com.

"At the start it was a whirlwind, it was all new."

"I had been at Southampton for 12 years, but I am starting to settle down now."

"All the lads and the staff at the club have been great towards me and I am really starting to find my feet."

While injuries, especially at the back, have hurt the Gunners this season, Chambers did not waste a second to capitalise on the opportunities given to him by Arsene Wenger, but is still astonished by with his significant involvement in the first-team.

"When you get the opportunity to come to a club like this you can't turn it down," he added.

"How quickly it has all happened for me, I have been a bit surprised [by that].

Meanwhile, his first appearance in Europe's top-tier left a feeling that will always be remembered for the rest of his life.

"It gave me goosebumps - I was singing the tune in my head!" he intimated.

"It was a really proud moment for me and my family and one I will never forget."

"Making my debut in the Champions League was a big challenge for me. Mentally and physically the whole occasion was just special."
