Latest reports suggest that the new generation of iPhones, including Apple iPhone 8, will sport a hi-tech curved screen. The incredible new screen will use less battery and show richer colours. Cupertino tech giant Apple is reportedly working on a curved OLED Display to replace the current LCD screens.

According to The Sun, suppliers are stockpiling components in order to create the amazing curved screen for Apple iPhone 8. This has made many to believe, the iPhone 8 is getting a curved OLED display. The flagship from Apple will also have wireless charging capabilities and its camera will be able to snap ultra-HD photos.

OLED screens have increased power inefficiency and allow manufacturers to make thinner handsets. Thus, the iPhone 8 may also be thinner than iPhone 7. They also allow for better colours and deeper blacks. Samsung already had AMOLED screens and Apple will soon be catching up with the South Korean tech giant. OLED pixels are self-illuminating.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics, BH and Interflex are suppliers of such OLED components and Samsung Display will use them to manufacture panels used in Apple iPhone 8, reports Extreme Tech. The iPhone 8 may even have a fingerprint scanner and home button embedded in the display itself.

More information on the device is expected to leak as the Apple iPhone 8 test devices are created ahead of launch. The Apple flagship is expected to be unveiled in autumn 2017. Samsung used a curved display for its Galaxy Note 7 but users could hardly enjoy the feature the handsets were recalled globally due to a supposed fault in the batteries.

Samsung has reported much higher sales of the Galaxy S series curved versions. Apple is expected to amass record-breaking sales with the upcoming iPhone 8. The future smartphone is reportedly going to be released in three variants that will not only target premium smartphone users, but the mid-range and low-end market as well. Apple may be launching another iPhone SE under a different name.
