After the spectacular Apple launch event, the benchmark scores for the iPhone 6 handset is out. GPU testing Basemark X suite has published the scores of the iPhone 6 along with its predecessors to help with the comparison.

The 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 6 model with 750 x 1,334 pixel resolution has scored 21,204. Notably, this is not a spectacular score when compared to its predecessor. The iPhone 5S scored 20,253 points. Under the hood, the iPhone 6 is powered by a dual-core Cyclone CPU (Apple's brand new A8 chip) clocked at 1.4 GHz. When it comes to the GPU, Apple has not revealed the configuration yet. However, rumours stated the GPU in iPhone 6 would be PowerVR GX6650, whereas the iPhone 5S is powered by PowerVR G6430, reports GSM Arena.

But, going by the dismal Basemark X benchmark results, Apple might have gone for the hexa-core PowerVR G6630 instead of the PowerVR GX6650 GPU, opines the same publication. It is worth noting that the 2014 flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 scored 23,501 in the same benchmark test. The graphical unit and the screen resolution of the aforementioned Samsung device are Adreno 330 GPU and 1080p, respectively.

Meanwhile, the scores pertaining to the iPhone 6 Plus phablet is not available at this point. Here is a list of Apple iPhone line of handsets' benchmark scores.

SmartphoneScore
iPhone 621,204
iPhone 5S20,253
iPhone 510,973
iPhone 5C10,822
iPhone 4S5,034

Despite the fact that the benchmark score is not over-the-top, the iPhone 6 craze has not waned even a bit. Apparently, the phones that were pre-ordered from Sept. 12 in the U.S. will be shipped only in 7 to 10 days time period owing to the high demand. It is also worth noting that AT&T and Verizon are now only selling the iPhone 6 units in space gray and gold hues. The much-loved silver iPhone 6 models are already out of stock. T-Mobile is also selling the gold and space gray variants stamped with a shipment duration of 7 to 10 days, says MacRumors.

Potential buyers interested in the bigger iPhone 6 Plus model should note supplies are very limited when compared to the 4.7-inch model. Unfortunately as well, the new orders for the iPhone 6 Plus phablet will take up to 3 to 4 weeks to reach buyer's door steps.
