Angelina Jolie is falling into the trap of repeating her parents’ mistake by cutting off Brad Pitt from the lives of their six children, the actress’ childhood nanny warned.

Krisann Morel said the “Maleficent” star’s decision to keep her children away from Pitt will cause them to suffer from a lonely and traumatic childhood just like she did after Jolie’s parents, Marcheline Bertrand and Jon Voight, divorced in 1977.

“I am worried that Angie is repeating the past - repeating the same mistakes her mother made during her divorce - and I want to get this message across to her before it is too late,” Morel, 63, told the Daily Mail.

“I'm speaking out because I want to send a message to Angelina, who I care about very much.

“I want to tell her, ‘Please don't cut Brad out of the children's lives. Don't use the children as weapons in your divorce. And don't demonize your husband.’

“Because that is exactly what your mother did when she was breaking up with your father. And the result was you had a lonely and traumatic childhood. Why would you inflict the same tragedy on your kids?”

Morel said Jolie and her brother James Haven have suffered from a lonely and troubled childhood after being used as weapons to attack their womanizing father.

“Angie to me was a very lonely and troubled child. Even before she was born her mother became convinced that her husband Jon was having an affair,” she disclosed.

Brangelina divorce

Jolie shocked the world when the 41-year-old actress filed for divorce from her two-year marriage with Pitt on Sep. 19, citing irreconcilable difference as the reason for the split. She is seeking full physical custody of their children 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Since the court filing, the 52-year-old “Allied” star reunited with his children on Oct. 8 after agreeing on a parenting plan with his estranged wife. Under the plan, Jolie will have the temporary physical custody of the six children while she shares legal custody with Pitt.

Meanwhile, Jolie kept a low profile and evaded the media until she was spotted Sunday with her children and 43-year-old brother James Haven in Los Angeles. Pitt’s children are living with Jolie and her brother in a rental home in Malibu.

The children’s safety is the prime concern of the estranged couple. Their former head of security, Mark Billingham, disclosed how the celebrity couple was concerned about their kids’ security. (Read: Ex-SAS soldier shares how he had ‘fathered’ Brangelina’s children)

Collectively referred to as "Brangelina," Jolie and Pitt have been a couple since 2004 after co-starring in the 2005 box-office film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” Named as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UHHCR) Goodwill Ambassador in 2001, Jolie was allegedly the cause of Pitt’s divorce with actress Jennifer Aniston in 2005. On the other hand, Jolie was previously married to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
