Just a month ago after the tennis ace Andy Murray popped the question, his father also finally proposed to his long-time girlfriend. The 60-year-old will finally marry his 10-year girlfriend, Sam Watson, after he asked the question during a festive walk along a beach on Christmas Eve.

The soon to be married couple met when Andy Murray went to Barcelona to train more than a decade ago. Since then, the couple were able to maintain a good relationship. In fact, they celebrated their engagement with the 27-year-old tennis star and his brother Jamie Murray at their home in Dunblane, Perthshire.

Thus far, details on their wedding are not yet released, but relatives congratulated them all over the Internet, which made the news spread quickly. Sam's daughter, Brogan Watson, who's speculated to help Will Murray buy the engagement ring, posted on Twitter: "Congratulations to my mum and Will on their engagement!!" Erin Watson, her other daughter, also said, "Congratulations to my mum and Will on their engagement so happy for the 2 of them (sic)."

Someone close to the family released information to Daily Express, "Will and Sam have been a couple for a long time now and he just felt the time was right." The source also said that Will wanted to do something special for Christmas this year and he was nervous before the proposal.

Will Murray separated with Andy and Jamie's mother Judy Murray nearly 20 years ago. Andy and Jamie still lived with Will Murray in Dunblane even after the divorce was approved, and he postponed looking for his love because he focused on raising his kids.

Then he met Sam, an optician, when Andy settled in Spain to study at the Schiller International School and to practice tricks on the clay courts of the Sanchez-Casal Academy. The couple didn't want their relationship to be publicised and both are supporting their sons in their matches. This January, Andy Murray is set to play at the Hopman Cup with Heather Watson in preparation for the upcoming Australian Open.
