Alcatel is one of the tech companies that offers inexpensive devices but equipped with decent technology and latest software. Recently, Alcatel introduced their new line up of cheap tablets running Android OS platform called One Touch Tab.

The company announced Tab7HD and One Touch Evo 7 HD as their primary devices on the new line of Android tablets. Alcatel Tab7HD will not yet hit the stores until the third quarter of 2013. Ahead of the release here is a glimpse of what to expect from that device.

Display: The Alcatel Tab7HD has 7-inch display size with 800x1280 display resolution and is the same with Amazon's Kindle Fire HD. Both devices use IPD TFT capacitive touchscreen technology. The differences between the two is the multitouch feature, Kindle Fire HD can support up to 10 fingers at once.

Memory: Tab7HD holds a smaller internal storage than the Kindle Fire HD with 8GB and 16/32GB respectively. Both devices have 1GB of RAM installed inside. The upside of Alcatel Tab7HD is that it has a microSD slot for expansion.

Network and Data: It's still speculated that the Alcatel Tab7HD supports GPRS and EDGE data connection which means it has Wi-Fi support capability. Kindle Fire HD has no data network connection.

Camera: When it comes to camera, Tab7HD has two shooter, 2MP with 1600x1200 resolution for the rear and VGA for the front. Kindle Fire HD has 1.3MP rear shooter with 1280x1024 resolution and does not have a front camera unit.

System: Android 4.1 Jellybean is the base platform installed in Alcatel Tab7HD while Amazon Kindle Fire HD runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Both have dual-core processors but it seems like Tab7HD is faster with 1.6GHz clock speed while Kindle Fire HD has 1.2GHz clock speed with Cortex A9 chipset.
