Developer 343 Industries is looking to add new features and make a couple of gameplay changes to “Halo 5: Guardians” this month, nearly two months after the launch of the game. Perhaps the biggest gameplay change coming to the shooter is a new advanced controller setting for easier and deeper control customisation.

In a blog post at Halo Waypoint for the December update of “Halo 5: Guardians,” 343 Industries explained several new advance controller settings coming to the game. The developer showcased three new options for players to tweak so that they could play the game more to their liking.

First of the two new options is the look acceleration. This option allows the player to determine the speed in which his or her character turns. Upon checking the option, it will be set at 3, which provides a faster turn compared to that in previous “Halo” titles. Turning it down allows for slower turns. It can be turned up to maximum of 10, which provides a very quick 180-degree turn.

The next option is the inner dead zone. It allows players to further customise their look by allowing the controller to determine the camera movement of the analog stick. Basically, lower percentages of this option means that the analog stick movement will be recognised quicker. This is not advisable for analog sticks that don’t automatically return to the centre as it could affect the view in some ways, Dualshockers notes.

The final added option is the outer dead zone. This option determines when the controller has received maximum look speed, and it stops an issue called a slow turn. Like the inner dead zone, this option should be experimented on by players first.

Unless the players touch any of the options, their controller and settings will stay at the current defaults. It is advised that players first experiment with each setting so that they could play the game where they are most comfortable.
