Google remains mum on the launching of Google Nexus 10 2 in the market. Several speculations have come out that the Google Nexus 10 2 release date will not be happening this year.

Rumors claimed some of the upcoming features of the Nexus 10 2 are full HD display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution; quad core Snapdragon 800 chip processor; 2 GB of RAM; Adreno 330 GPU and internal storage of up to 32 GB. The tablet will run with the recently released Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It will also have an improved design.

This tablet is speculated to follow the pricing strategy of its predecessor with the 16 GB variant that costs $399 while the 32 GB model costs $499.

Below are three possible reasons Google Nexus 10 2 release date will not happen this year:

1. Nexus 8 On The Way

One of the possible reasons that Google Nexus 10 2 release date may not happen this year is because Google is working on a smaller 8-inch tablet. The rumor is sparked by a photo of the alleged tablet was seen by tech Web sites in the refreshed Android's "Apps & Entertainment" page. In a photo, a lady is holding a tablet that appears to be neither the Nexus 7 nor Nexus 10. The device is definitely running with Android 4.4 KitKat OS as seen in the photo. After numerous reports were published about the photo, Google quickly modified the photo so that the lady is holding a Nexus 7.

2. Google Nexus 10 Release In India

Another possible reason is brought by Google's desire to maximize profits on the current Nexus 10. The company released the tablet in India at a slightly expensive price. The Samsung-made Google Nexus 10 is now available in Google Play Store for 29,988 rupees ($480) for the 16 GB model. The 32 GB model will run 32,999 rupees ($530). The original price of the tablet is $399 and $499 for the 16 GB and 32 GB variants, respectively. It seemed that Google will release the tablet in more countries first before it debuts its successor. However, Google has not specified which countries, aside from India, the device will be made available.

3. Manufacturer Issues

According to reliable tipster @evleaks, the Nexus 10 2 will be manufactured by Asus and taking out Samsung in the picture. Asus manufactured Google's 7-inch tablet that is considered as a success since the company packed great features and offered the tablet at incredibly affordable price. However, neither Google nor ASUS confirmed the existence of the tablet.
