Lenovo-owned Motorola brings three new phones to Australia, including the new flagship Moto X Style. Last month, the three phones were announced in the U.S. This time, those in Australia can expect the phones to arrive in early September.

Moto X Style

Motorola’s newest flagship Moto X Style sports a 5.7-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution and 540 pixels per inch. There are storage options of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Exclusive to Vodafone, the Style boasts turbo charging which can bring 10 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes, reports CNET .

Users have to shell out an extra AU$3 a month on the AU$80 Red plan. This would include unlimited standard national calls, unlimited text within Australia and to overseas, 300 minutes of international calling and 4GB of data on a 24 month contract.

The Motorola X Style is the Moto X Pure Edition in the US. The Moto X Style will also be Category 6 capable in Australia which will enable the device to run on fast networks being deployed by Telstra and Optus.

Moto X Play

The Moto X Play is the mid-range handset with a 5.5-inch Full HD screen and a huge 3,630mAh battery. The device is powered by Snapdragon 615 processor and packed with 2GB of RAM. The handset touts a 21MP rear camera with a 5MP front snapper. It comes with either 16GB or 32GB of storage. At launch the Moto X Play will be a Vodafone exclusive. It is much cheaper at an additional $5 per month on the $40 Red Plan. This plan includes $400 including call and text value and 500MB of data over 24 months.

However, it is worth mentioning that the Moto X Play is now available through Moto Maker service in UK, as reported by Android Central. Prices start at £279 for a custom 16GB version.

Moto G (3rd Gen)

It sports a 5-inch screen with a 1,280x720-pixel resolution. In Australia the device will be shipped with 16GB storage option with 4G compatibility. The external memory via microSD card slot may be up to 32GB. The smartphone also features 2470 mAh battery, IPX7 waterproofing and 13-megapixel camera. It will be available in retail for AU$369.

Moto Maker to arrive next year

The company has yet to settle few issues before Moto Maker can be launched in Australia. The customisation service is expected to hit the Australian shores in 2016.

“[Moto Maker] was looked at for deployment in 2015, some complications were seen, and we decided to re-evaluate and push it out,” said Motorola ANZ product manager Danny Adamopoulos to ZDNet. Using Motorola’s Moto Maker service, users can customise their phone. They can pick and choose colors for the front and back panels of the phone from the pool of options. Thus, buyers can design their own device and order it from the website.
