Motorola has announced three new Android smartphones including a larger Moto X Style and Moto X Play phones and an updated Moto G. Motorola held press conferences in three cities – New York, London and Sao Paolo to announce the major updates to its line of Android smartphones.

The new Moto X Style which will be sold in the U.S. will be known as the Moto X Pure Edition. It will have a universal LTE branding allowing the phone to work under any carrier. The Moto X Style will cost $399 unlocked in the United States, reports CNET . The smartphone will have significant overhaul in many respects.

The improved specs include a 5.7-inch display with Quad HD resolution. The thin bezels and curved back saves the phone from feeling too big. The turbo charging claims to clock up 10 hours of charge in just 15 minutes. The Style is powered by Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM. The device sports 21MP rear camera along with a 5PM front snapper, both of which have flash. The handset has 16, 32, and 64GB storage options with expandable memory of up to 128GB via microSD card. It will run on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 with OS additions such as Moto Assist and Moto Display.

The second version of Moto X, the Moto X Play will have a water-repellent body. The device will sport the same 21-megapixel camera and dual LED flash, but with a smaller 5.5-inch full HD display (1080p). The camera will have an improved focus to capture more light. The 3,630 mAh battery would run the phone up to two days with a single charge. Moto X Play will be powered by Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM, reports Apple Insider . The Play, which can be customised via Moto Maker, will be available in August in Canada, Europe and Latin America. It will around cost $300 to $400 or significantly less than the standard premium phone.

Motorola has also updated the budget handset Moto G by adding a waterproof coating on the device. Furthermore the phone can be customised through Moto Maker letting users choose different colour backs and storage options, reports Financial Post . The device will house a 2,470 mAh battery and will be powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor paired with a vanilla version of Android 5.1.1. The storage can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. Additionally it houses an enhanced 13-megapixel rear shooter as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone will come with 4G LTE as a standard feature. The phone has 1GB of RAM. The Moto G costs about $199 in Canada, $180 in the U.S. or £160 in the United Kingdom and is readily available worldwide now.
