The Kansas City Royals beat the San Francisco Giants, 7-2 on Wednesday night and tied the best-of-seven 2014 Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series, 1-1 against the San Francisco Giants.

The sixth inning was the key moment in Game 2 as the Royals sent home 5 runners courtesy of Billy Butler's single and Salvador Lopez's and Omar Infante's hits for two scores each.

Kansas City's pitching crew got the job this time relative to their opening game struggles. Yordano Ventura pitched until the sixth inning allowing just two runs and relievers Kelvin Herrera, Greg Holland and Wade Davis shut out the Giants the rest of the way. Games 3 through 5 shifts to San Francisco starting on Friday, Oct. 24.
