A new "Fallout" game could arrive sooner than expected since, according to an Xbox executive, several studios have been working on it.

The statement came from Xbox Head of Gaming Services Be Decker during a recent interview with Gamesradar. Decker talked about the Xbox Games Pass and the main reason most of its users decided to subscribe to the service. According to him, 55% of subscribers signed up for the service to access new games at release.

"55% of those surveyed said a main [sic] reason that they joined is to get new games at release – that day one content," the executive has shared. "That's why we made the investments that we have."

The executive added, "We have 23 studios across Xbox and Bethesda, working on Halo, Forza, Fallout, and new IP that we haven't even talked about yet that's gonna blow your mind."

Many "Fallout" fans believe that this statement may have confirmed that a new "Fallout" game is on the pipeline. "Fallout 76" was released three years ago, while Bethesda launched "Fallout 4" nine years ago. Considering the gaming studio's release pattern, it is safe to presume that a new "Fallout" game could come out very soon.

Currently, Bethesda is knee-deep developing "Starfield" and "The Elder Scrolls 6." Both games were announced at E3 2018 and both titles would definitely keep them busy for years. This could mean that if the next game would come out from Bethesda Game Studios, fans could expect it to arrive a few more years after the release of "The Elder Scrolls 6."

However, Bethesda's parent company Zenimax is now owned by Microsoft, which also owns Obsidian and inXile entertainment. Obsidian developed "Fallout New Vegas" while inXile Entertainment is a studio of devs that used to work on the "Fallout" series. There is a chance that the next "Fallout" game might not come from Bethesda Gaming Studios. It could be developed by inXile Entertainment and Obsidian and could arrive sooner than anticipated.

In the absence of direct and official announcements, fans should temper their expectations about the new "Fallout" game.
