World Music Day is celebrated annually on June 21 to honor all musicians and singers. The day was first celebrated by France in 1982, which is why it is also known as Fête de la Musique.

The day was later adopted by over 120 nations across the world. It highlights the importance of music and how beneficial it is for the human mind and body. The day coincides with the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
