A woman from Houghton Regis, Hertfordshire, claims to have beaten terminal thyroid cancer by ditching her husband and consuming fresh fruits everyday. She reportedly refused to take chemotherapy for the treatment of cancer and decided to take her life into her own hands.

Candice-Marie Fox was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2011 when she discovered a lump above her left collarbone. An ultrasound revealed that she had 20 papillary thyroid carcinomas. Within a few months of diagnosis, the cancer had spread to her liver and lungs, irrespective of the treatment being given to curb the spread to the carcinoma cells.

Fox was told by the oncologists that she has only five years to live. In addition, doctors advised Fox to come back after six months to initiate chemotherapy sessions that will help reduce the spread of cancer that cannot be cured. However, Fox refused to take the chemotherapy.

After refusing to take the chemotherapy, Fox reportedly changed her lifestyle, by including fresh fruits in her dietary habits and quitting toxins such as cigarettes and alcohol, and her husband, too.

"Stress, chemicals and animal products all feed cancer, so I just got rid of them. My husband was not supportive and it wasn't working, we we split up too. I had got rid of the massive tumours by arresting and starving it with the pure science of food and a positive attitude," said Fox, reported The Mirror.

Fox included fruits, including bananas, pineapple, kiwis and grapefruit in her everyday diet. These fruits are known to contain bromelain, a cancer-combating protein. At the end of six months, a diagnosis test confirmed that her cancer is gone — completely.

"Her tumour markers which reflect the number of cancerous cells has been well within the normal range for over two years, so we can confidently say that her stage four thyroid cancer is under effective management," said Mark Simon from the Nutritional Oncology Research Institute in California, confirming that Fox is now completely rid of the disease.

However, no confirmation about the truthfulness of the alleged recovery from the cancer has been received so far from Fox. Upon interrogation by Reality Based Medicine, Fox confessed that her liver cancer was benign, however, she has not yet responded to questions surrounding her recovery from thyroid cancer that spread to her lungs.
