Season 6 of “The Walking Dead” is currently in production as the cast members are filming the episodes. No official date has been announced, but the official month is out.

“The Walking Dead” Season 6, episode 1 airs in October 2015. Official Twitter for TWD confirmed that new season airs this October. Season 6 will pick things up from where Season 5 finale ended.

Rick Grimes took up the duty of the executioner in “Conquer.” Pete, Jessie’s husband accidently cut Reg’s throat and murdered him during a meeting in Alexandria. Deanna asked Rick to kill Pete and pumped a bullet in his head. Daryl Dixon, Morgan and Aaron witnessed this and “The Walking Dead” Season 6 will showcase how Morgan will accept this new Rick.

Greg Nicotero, co-executive producer talked to Melty about “The Walking Dead” Season 6, a potential cure of the virus and more. When asked if there is a cure or not, he said that they have not really worked on establishing if there is a cure. He added that Eugene was lying as he was trying to protect himself. He stated that they never talked about how the walker outbreak started.

Nicotero said that people can hope that the survivors would be able to build a community that can have life in it. He stated in “The Walking Dead” Season 6, the community will be important for the survivors. The new season will be about how Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne and others will make the community work.

Now that Pete is dead, Rick and Jessie might have a chance to start a new relationship. However, Nicotero said that Rick was responsible killing the “father of her children.” It will be difficult for Jessie to forget what Rick Grimes did in the finale episode.
