A soldier is a soldier irrespective of the era. "The Walking Dead" commemorated Memorial Day by tweeting a picture of Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and reminded fans that he was once a veteran soldier.

Twitter account of "The Walking Dead" tweeted an image of Abraham Ford with the hashtag #grateful.

"In memory of those who served. Bravery is never forgotten."

These words served as the headline of the picture with ex-soldier Abraham Ford carrying a kid on his shoulder with a herd of walkers behind him.

However, fans complained that using the picture to celebrate Memorial Day is not right. Abraham Ford was introduced in "The Walking Dead" TV show in Season 4.

According to Comicbook.com, Abraham was first seen in "The Walking Dead" # 53 after the prison was destroyed in the comic books. The character lasted for about three years in the books.

In the comic books, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and others met Abraham, Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos) and Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) on Hershel's farm. Abraham and his team were on their way to Washington D.C. because Eugene revealed that he was scientist and knew the cause of the zombie outbreak.

Rick and Abraham became good friends. However, they started out as not so good buddies. In the comic books, Rick and Abraham got into a fight after Abraham tried to kill Maggie.

The TV version, of course, showcased a remix version of the comic books. Currently, Abraham, Rick, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Lauran Cohan), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Rosita Espinosa, Eugene Porter and others are stuck in the train car. "The Walking Dead" Season 5 will pick things up from Season 4 finale as Rick and team will try to find a way to come out of the train car.

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 episodes air this October on AMC.
