Vividwireless offers "truly unlimited"downloads
WIMAX operator revamps pricing plan
Vividwireless, the Perth-based mobile WiMAX network operator, has changed its pricing plan and will now offer "truly unlimited" downloads for $75 per month.
There is only one restriction. For the unlimited plan, only one modem is allowed per account. Such a restriction is not enforced on other plans. For people who want to use more than one device, the company also offers a 40GB $99 plan.
In addition, vividwireless has doubled the data allowance on its entry-level plan to 2GB as it cuts the price from $20 to $19. The price of its 10GB plan has likewise been cut from $55 to $49. Prepaid plans, most of which have a 30-day expiry, now also go for a lower price.
The USB modem has also been made cheaper. It now costs $129 and is available for free on a plan that cost $49 and above with a 24 month contract. Previously, the modem cost $179. On a 12-month contract that cost $49 and above, the modem goes for either $79 or $49.
Last March, vividwireless launched the first mobile WIMAX broadband wireless network in Perth. The service is available through three options: a home gateway that supports a telephone service and incorporates a WiFi router or a USB modem.
The company may launch services in Sydney and Melbourne later this month.
