Microsoft launches its first teaser video advertisement for the Windows Phone 7 operating system.

The ad, which is one minute long, can be seen on the official Windows Phone UK YouTube channel. The video, which spoofs the famous mirage scene from "Lawrence of Arabia," was made for a Secret Cinema screening of the film.

The Windows Phone 7 is expected to be launched in a few months, which is why Microsoft is drumming up publicity for the new mobile OS. Windows Phone UK has forged a partnership with Secret Cinema to bring "a new level of connectivity" to the Secret Cinema experience. By the time of the launch, Microsoft is expected to spend over $500 million.

The company is facing tough competition in terms of marketing. Rival Apple is consistently recognized as a leader and innovator when it comes to marketing its products. In fact, the company was recognized as "Brand of the Decade" by Adweek last year.
