VHA increase the amount of data included in its mobile phone cap plans as the company aims to gain ground in the increasingly price-competitive mobile services market.

The increases will apply to the company's 3 and Vodafone brands. The new scheme would cover both consumer and business postpaid plans.

Previously, the 24 month contract cap plans, which costs $19, $29, $49, and $79 per month that came with zero, 50, 500, 750 and 1000 megabytes of data. Now, the plans have 100, 200, 1500, 2000 and 2000 MB.

The $59 plan now has unlimited SMS and MMS bundled in, making it identical to the $79 plan. The promotion is available to new and existing customers. To get the plan, users must upgrade to a new 24-month contract between 25 August and 25 November 2010. The plan is available in conjunction with an iPhone 4 or Sony Ericsson X10 for free upfront.

The "unlimited" plans, which cost $79 and $99, offer unlimited SMS and MMS and unlimited national calls within and between the 3 and Vodafone networks. The plans offer increased data quotas from 1GB to 2GB and from 2GB to 3GB.
