VHA in deal with Ericsson
Contract worth undisclosed amount
Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) taps Ericsson for the construction of a new multi-million dollar nationwide transmission network across the country. The project, which will deploy thousands of upgraded microwave radio and optical fibre links, is expected to be in operation within a year
The contract is worth an undisclosed amount. It will include the supply, rollout and integration of Ericsson optical and microwave transmission equipment, along with design, installation, integration, field support and project management services.
The network will run on the Swedish company's MHL 3000 DWDM platform, Mini-Link TN microwave equipment and OMS 1400 series of optical transport products.
Ericsson has worked as a major supplier for Hutchison, even before its merger with Vodafone Australia. However, the company missed out on an earlier opportunity to manage VHA's network.
