The United Airlines faced another controversy after a disturbing video went viral on social media. The video was captured by Aura D Bridges who said that the man in the video was a passenger violently kicked off as the airline was trying to make room for four of its employees. Two weeks before, the airlines faced a leggings incident where two young girls were barred for not following the company’s dress code policy.

Bridges was one of the passengers of the flight waiting to depart from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. Her husband Tyler Bridges said that the airline offered U$400 (AU$532) then US$800 (AU$1,065) vouchers and a hotel stay to passengers who were willing to give up their seats. However, there were no passengers who volunteered. The situation led the airlines' manager to announce that the passengers would be chosen at random. The airline named four passengers but only three left the plane. The fourth person refused to move.

Two officers were trying to reason with the passenger then the third officer came. The third officer pointed at the man saying that he should get off the plane. The incident led to an altercation. The passenger was dragged down the aisle and the four employees boarded the plane. The passenger came back looking dazed saying that he had to get home. He was once again removed from the plane.

According to Bridges, the passenger told the manager that he was a doctor and needed to see patients in the morning. The doctor was heard saying that he was being singled out because of his nationality. The passenger is a Chinese man addressing his concern to an African-American manager.

United spokesman Charlie Hobart said that the airline followed the right procedures. He added that the plane had to depart and they wanted to get their customers to their destinations.

Oscar Munoz, the company's CEO, apologised for having to re-accommodate their customers. He said that the event was upsetting and they were conducting a review and reaching out to the passenger to resolve the situation.
