A couple of the NFL’s best wide receivers have been traded in the 2022 offseason, and at least one more could change teams before Week 1. It’s led to speculation that Tennessee Titans receiver A.J. Brown might join that group as he seeks a new contract.

Brown is reportedly skipping the Titans’ voluntary workouts because he wants an extension. The receiver also doesn’t have any references to Tennessee on his social media accounts.

Does that mean there’s a chance that the Titans could trade an unhappy Brown?

"I do not foresee that happening," Titans general manager Jon Robinson told reporters Thursday when asked about the possibility of trading Brown. "A.J. knows how we feel about him and how much he means to this football team."

Brown is in the final year of his rookie deal, which is worth $5.65 million over four years. Considering the contracts that receivers Stefon Diggs, Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill have signed this offseason, Brown might be looking to make at least $25 million per year.

"We've had some discussions with his reps," Robinson said. "He [Brown] was here a couple of weeks ago and I talked to him. We're working through that. We've made it public how we feel about A.J. and how we want him to be a part of our football team."

Brown was limited to 13 games in the 2021 season because of injuries. He finished with 63 receptions for 869 yards after posting 1,000-yard seasons in each of his first two years in the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers traded Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders in the first blockbuster receiver trade of the offseason. The Kansas City Chiefs sent Hill to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks.

Deebo Samuel hopes to be the next receiver traded. The San Francisco 49ers’ star has asked to be sent elsewhere. Just like Brown, Samuel hasn’t reported to voluntary workouts.

Samuel’s trade request reportedly isn’t the result of San Francisco low-balling him in contract negotiations. Brown is expected to remain in Tennessee if the Titans give him the offer that he wants.
