Arnold Schwarzenegger will be seen as Terminator in the recently released “Terminator Genisys.” The actor is reportedly happy to reprise the iconic role, which he first played in “The Terminator” in 1984.

In his discussion with Screen Rant, the actor revealed his passion for the character and what made him return to the popular franchise. “I think it’s a great and interesting character,” he said. He plays T-800/ Guardian who has been programmed to protect Emilia Clarke’s character Sarah Connor.

According to Schwarzenegger, the Terminator version in this film will destroy anything in order to protect Connor. He also added that he liked the plot of the film, “I think the people that were involved made me feel like I think this is going to be a good movie and they’re going to go all out with the project,” he said.

Schwarzenegger’s T-800 will also age in the film, reported MTV. The film deals with a lot of time travel. It has been set in three timelines, past, present and future so there are two versions of T-800 in the film, one younger and one older.

Alan Taylor directed the film. It concerns John Connor who sends his trusted lieutenant back in time in order to protect his mother Sarah from a cyborg sent by Skynet. But when Reese reaches in past he finds that the cyborg he came to kill has already been taken care off. Now Reese, Sarah and Guardian have to save themselves from T-3000 and T-1000.

Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier have written the film based on the characters created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. The other star cast of the film includes Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Lee Byung-hun. Lorne Balfe has supplied the music and David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are the producers. Paramount Pictures released the film this week on July, 1. It has opened in regular theatres but is also being shown in 3D, IMAX 3D and Real 3D.
